Question for my fellow Tyee riders!
Posted 31st Mar 2026r/PropainBikes
I know I’m a beginner so there’s a high likelihood I crash this but I couldn’t not make an F22, they look so cool.
Posted 21st Feb 2026r/RCPlanes
Y’all made it sound like building building your own first ever plane and learning to fly is impossible, glad I’m stubborn and ignored the “buy don’t build” advice. 😁
Posted 3rd Nov 2025r/RCPlanes
Thinking about trying out RC planes, what do y’all like about the hobby and thoughts on the start of my plane design?
Posted 5th Oct 2025r/RCPlanes
Little idea in case anyone else also has a right wrist/hand injury and still wants to drive RC’s.
Posted 26th Sep 2025r/Traxxas
Two years and probably about 150 rides on my tyee and I’m still stoked every time I ride it.

Just a convenient little tip I thought of earlier.

New boot day let’s go!!!

Got commissioned to make an entirely wood tamper. Still needs another coat of finish and already looks awesome!
Posted 20th Sep 2024r/espresso
What do you guys think of these tampers I made? Hand turned out of some different exotic and domestic hardwoods. Also they’re 57 mm, is that a useful size? It seems less common than 58 mm.
Posted 17th Sep 2024r/espresso
Just finished a batch of beautiful tampers. Details are below, DM me if interested. Prices are as marked in the individual photos.

Making espresso tampers and this has got to be the most insane looking padauk I’ve ever seen. Also shown is one cocobolo handle and a couple stained curly maple.

Just finished my second pair of boots! 8” lace ups in Wickett and Craig medium brown traditional harness. Fully lined, all hand cut and hand sewn.

I’m basically a Rapid-E sole stitching machine now, just not so rapid.

Big shoutout to the lasting guys at Nicks! They make it look easy but it is super challenging!

MOOOREE BEESWAX!! (Come at me water)
Posted 20th Feb 2024r/NicksHandmadeBoots
Got tired of the rain and rubbed a chunk of beeswax on my boots a couple weeks ago. (Walnut RO Max support). Made a for a cool look, a nice patina over 2 and a bit years I think! (last photos are when they were brand new.)
Posted 18th Feb 2024r/NicksHandmadeBoots
Here’s a patina update for my fellow boot nerds! Glad to have made it into the contender championship!

From the guy who made the unwearably thick leather jacket: I made a pair of tanker boots. (Yes they actually fit and are comfortable)

Just finished my first ever pair of boots.
When you want to check your Nicks boots fit bit don’t have a mirror…

I’ve decided new boot laces day hype should be a thing. It’s like it’s like 5% of new boot day stoke for 2% of the price, that’s pretty good bang for your buck!

Any important advice for making my own lasts?

Pre and post condition on my walnut to urban loggers. Getting close to two years on these things. Near daily wear alternating a bit with my renegades.

The quintessential machine shop class hammer final project. Here’s mine.
Posted 2nd Jun 2023r/Machinists
My first proper little machining project made during my free time in my university’s machine shop, a brass x-acto knife handle. Thoughts? I’m stoked with it.

All my matching WC chestnut veg tan goodies. Can’t wait for the boots to get the same patina as the watch strap.
Posted 9th Feb 2023r/NicksHandmadeBoots
Somewhere around 60 hours of work and my jacket is finally done. 5 ounce Seidel crazy horse leather. (Yes 5 ounces is ridiculous for a jacket.) Everything hand cut to my own design and measurements, hand punched, and hand saddle stitched. This was a beast of a project. Hope you all like it!

Since I can’t stop taking pictures of these boots I might as well share them.
Posted 29th Dec 2022r/NicksHandmadeBoots
Just a couple nice pictures of my chestnut renegades for your enjoyment this evening. Love these boots.

1 week old (5 wears I think) and already getting some incredible rolls in these veg tan stovepipes. Also a couple detail shots to show how fantastic the stitching and heel sanding is.
