Mail call! Engelhard 14k yellow Gold ring. Approximate age: 1920s-1940s. These were produced by the "future" divisions of Baker & Co Inc and American Platinum Works of Newark NJ, before C.E. Jr. formally consolidated the companies to create Engelhard Industries in 1958.

Crystalline Osmium from Meta Metals / SMT - Very interesting crystalline structures that resemble a Baseball glove. Nothing beats the in person experience of ownership! Just holding crystalline Osmium induces a smile, everyone I've shown has been in absolute awe of this truly precious metal!

The seller did well for 1 gram of Silver with minimal 10k Gold plating. It is a unique promotional product. I did not bid on, but thought the auction result was interesting enough to share!

Engelhard historical information DUMP! I am sick of waiting on AE to be "AE." When I'm done sharing...you will know everything I know...ENJOY! Keep on stacking!!!
One of the only known images of Charles Engelhard Sr I have found. Even Johnson Matthey made mention of him in a book they commissioned. A keen eye will note on the 2nd page, that Engelhard Industries was formed in 1955. This refers to operations abroad in Britain. Did not happen in USA until 1958.
APW Collection (American Platinum Works) This predates the formal creation of "Engelhard Industries" in 1958 by C.E. Jr. Silver anode/bars for Industry, Platinum Crucible, APW barrel plug, APW ads, APW location! The early history of Engelhard is fascinating, we have only cracked the surface!

Baker & Co Inc/Engelhard ad from 1945. Charles Engelhard Jr. was the current VP of Baker & Co Inc and the eventual heir to the many businesses owned by Charles Engelhard Sr. After the death of his father, C.E. Jr. would consolidate the businesses to "formally" create Engelhard Industries in 1958.

New 2.5 Gram & 1/10oz bullion options from Luciteria, Each has a mirror shine! The evolution of fractional Osmium bullion is fascinating to me! I wonder what other surprises we have to look forward to in 2024? The year is young, but the "bar" has been set. (Pun intended)

Part of estate of deceased relative, trying to fairly and objectively settle valuation dispute. My position is the piece has more sentimental value, then "real" World value due to being "Silverplate," but maybe I'm wrong? I appreciate any help from people who know more on the topic.
