I just watched Wicked: For Good, and my biggest issue is how awkwardly they try to force the narrative to fit in with the Wizard of Oz narrative, it just felt super rushed, awkward and jarring. The first film actually felt like something worth watching, the second film felt like fan fiction.

They’ve gone with Francesca this season to keep the show as interesting and engaging as possible. It makes way more sense for Eloise to be the lead of season 5, but after the success of shows like Heated Rivalry, they probably think that a Fran season will do a better job at revitalising the show.

Can’t believe we have to wait another 3+ years for Eloise’s season…
Really hoping that the show expands upon the Lucius Malfoy character from the books, he has a lot of untapped potential in my opinion.

If you had to bet on one film definitely being nominated for Best Picture at the 2027 Oscars - what would it be and why?
Posted 16th Mar 2026r/Oscars
I'm sorry, but this is a bad decision. People only fan-cast her as Gothel because she more or less played the exact same role as Agatha in Wandavision. It was always a really narrow-minded choice, and it has has honestly made me lose some respect for Disney for going along with it.

After Barbie, Fall Guy, Project Hail Mary and Star Wars: Starfighter, I really hope Ryan Gosling goes back to doing some dramatic films - similar to Drive, Place Beyond the Pines, and Only God Forgives

What felt like the worst Oscars fumble? -accidentally announcing La La Land as Best Picture or saving the 2021 Best Actor Oscar for last, presuming that Chadwick Boseman would win posthumously?
Posted 13th Mar 2026r/Oscars
I still think Timothee Chalamet has a big chance at winning the best actor Oscar - He won the Golden Globe - he lost the BAFTA, but it was to a British actor in a British film - He lost the SAG, but he had already won it the year before.
Since season 2 may show us more of the 1942–1943 school year when the Chamber of Secrets first opened, I would love to see some more references to the presence of Grindelwald in the backdrop and how the wizarding world was dealing with it at the time.

Thoughts on the new John Campea Show thumbnail lol

What are some expansions/unseen moments that weren’t in the books that you’d love to see in season 2?
Posted 12th Mar 2026r/HarryPotteronHBO
This scene of Lavender Brown being killed in Deathly Hallows also reminds of when David Yates decided to suck all of the magic and whimsy out of the wizarding world when making the Fantastic Beasts Franchise.

I really do think it’s still likely that the main Voldemort actor won’t be cast until the Goblet of Fire season. It doesn’t make sense for them to cast a big actor who won’t be needed again for another 3 years.

Although I don’t believe the rumour, I do think the role of The Doctor doesn’t carry the same level of respect that it once did.

“I think a lot of people are starting to get to the age where they’re really worried that they’re not going to achieve their dreams and be the success that they wanted to be. So naturally they’re taking it out people who actually have, and sadly, Chalamet is the number one target” - HollywoodVoice

Worst John Campea moment?

Given how long Tomlin has seemingly been working on this Aegon’s Conquest project, does anyone else find it kinda shitty for Willimon to just swoop in and try and take it for himself…

Whilst I do think that Lawrence (Die my Love) deserved a best actress nomination over Stone (Bugonia), I just realised that had she been nominated, 5/5 of the best actress nominations would've been for characters dealing with depression, so at least Stone gives the category some variety.

I am really hoping that Paramount realises that the HBO name and brand is so much more valuable than Paramount+. To just shove everything that belongs on HBO onto Paramount+ would be beyond stupid.

Couldn’t agree more. In a show where the main character feels immortal, regeneration is the closest to death that they can get. To remove that not only sucks all of the emotion out regeneration, but also all of the stakes that come with it. Bi-regeneration is the one thing that I can’t defend RTD on
