Took a walk through Leuven today and picked these up in a craft beer shop, to add variety to the Belgian beers I’ve been drinking. The English one has the Authentic Trappist stamp!

The Dutch word for chicken farmer is… concerning. Jan, what do you do to these poor animals?

Stumbled upon this cool picture on Facebook of the Atomium during constructions. Does anyone have info on it?

Finally got around to tasting the legendary Westvleteren 12 in no other than my Fourchette glass (sorry, again…). I love how smooth it feels despite its ABV. I also definitely tasted the chocolate in it. Very nice experience overall, keep the recommendations coming!

Beer #3 - Rochefort 10. Merveille indeed, thanks for the recommendation! It did taste stronger than the previous two, and I really enjoyed the coffee notes. Beautiful foam color as well. What’s next?

Posted my Chimay Blue a few days back and got many recommendations. Today I got to try the Trappe Quadrupel, still in my Fourchette glass (sorry…). It was great, and oh, the color! Onward goes my new appreciation for darker beers.

Update: the beer has been opened. It is indeed a brew of the gods, the best I’ve ever had. I listened to your tips about temperature and cheese (I’m trying to hide the fact I don’t have an appropriate glass, I’m sorry, just roll with it)

Despite having lived in Belgium for 20 years and having acquired citizenship, I’ve never left Brussels. In the past year, I’ve visited Ghent, Bruges, Chimay, the Eau d’Heure lakes, and today, I added Leuven to the list. Here are my favorite shots!
