Psybient: chilled out psychedelic space music
Psybient is a form of Chillout music which emerged in the mid-1990s in the trend of Psytrance and Goa Trance artists composing slower and more relaxed tracks that emphasized atmosphere over rhythm. The genre utilizes psytrance’s hypnotic, surreal, and progressive atmosphere in the context of Ambient music and is often paired with the laid-back grooves of Downtempo.
