My 6-month-old kitten’s silver/grey fur seems to be coming through more as he gets older. Is this something that usually keeps changing and grows out, or is he likely to keep this colouring into adulthood?

Black smoke show off. Meet Cooper. Also! I’m confused about what colour coat I’m supposed to ‘select’ for the vets and microchip etc. Apparently I’m supposed to choose black but if he goes missing, he’s clearly very grey! Black / grey ? What does everybody put for colour coat for black smokes?
